Concerning the drs7000n, it has two types of audio outputs. IT has a digital coaxial output as well as a digital optical output. My question involves using the dig. coaxial output and connecting that output with a hdtv.

Can you use the dig. coaxial output? If so, how does it need to be connected and using what type (model) of cables?

It's strictly a matter of what type of input the device you're connecting to supports. If the device you want to accept the digital audio output has only coaxial inputs, use coaxial; if it has only optical, use optical; if it has both, use whichever is more convenient. Cable for coaxial digital audio should be 75-ohm shielded coax; pretty much anything labeled for video or digital audio signals should work fine.
