Rent or borrow, dont try to do it without one.

Three people working together don't need one. Two to lift and one to position the economy model of the drywall lift. $4 for as many days as you want.

Should have added if you are working by yourself (which i almost always am) dont try to do it without one. Also handy if you have extremely tall ceilings.

Yes I do but in this basement the ceiling before clips channel and double layer of drywall was 8 ft 2 inches+/-. So for building efficiency we put up the ceiling first. Then caulked the $hit out of both layers on the walls. The one I did today was ceiling, wall, ceiling, wall. (making Bacon build) His ceiling was 8 ft 6 in and He ordered 9 ft drywall.
