I have been using Replaytv to record Directv channels via IR Blaster.

This works fine for Directv channels since the guide information is loaded into Replaytv. I can easily search for program and record. The same is not true if I wanted to record OTA channels (I do not subscribe to local channels from Directv).

First of all the digitial version of the OTA channels are mapped to the 2-1, 4-1, 5-1. Is there any way to send via IR blaster this information?

Second, if I can download the local channel guide from Directv into Replaytv, how do I get replaytv to emit the digitial subchannel instead?

The reason I am doing this is so that I can record the full digital tranmission of the OTA transmission, even though I am outputting via S-Video only. The results as well as aspect ratio is much better than regular. I do this to record HBO 509 for example.

Thanks,

Jim
