I understand the DST-3000 has grey side bars but I want black side bars, is there a way to change the color?

Another question: have there been any firmware upgrades or mail in fixes for the DST-3000?

Come on now DST-3000 owners, ONE of you must know if the DST-3000 can be setup with BLACK sidebars (vs. the default of grey). Anyone?

Wayne,

You can set up screen to cropped, stretch or grey sidebars as a default.

Lot's of threads on these questions. Also the PDF for the 3000 is available under DirecTV and Toshiba sites.

I did a search on this forum on DST-3000 and didn't find my answer. Someone else who asked the same question months ago never got a response (I e-mailed him today asking and he said "no"). I looked at Toshiba's website earlier today and just saw a brief facts sheet on the DST-3000 but I'll go back and look for a PDF.

I thought I was asking a very simple question and that most DST-3000 owners would know the answer to.

I owned a DST-3000 and there is no way to turn the grey sidebars to black. The sidebars are grey to reduce the risk of CRT burn-in.

That's too bad. For people like me with LCD projectors, burn in isn't an issue so for viewing black is preferred.
