I have a DST-3000 connected to a Hughes Dual LNB oval dish. I spent over an hour with DTV trying to determine why channel 199 gives me 721 code and 509 is unavailable. DTV told me to call toshiba. Does anyone know why I can't pick up the HDTV broadcast from DTV? My sat strength on 119 is 94 on all transponders.

I had the same problem: same STB and strong signals reported by the box. I know this sounds idiotic but the STB was not differentiating the two satellite feeds. It was reading the primary satellite. I was simply not getting the second satellite. I ended up having to use a separate round dish, mounted elsewhere, to supplement the oval dish on the roof. Apparently, my tree cover precluded getting both satellites from one location. The second satellite, besides having channels 509 and 199, has some of the Spanish language channels in the low 400s in Spanish. If you receive those in english that is your telltale that you are not receiving the HD satellite, irrespective of what your signal strength tells you. At least that was my story (and it took 3-4 frustrating weeks to find this out).Text

Thank you for the help. I discovered that the problem was with my dish. I have a DirecPC dual LNB. This dish does not get the 199 sat despite what Dave or Hughes may tell you. I bought the Terk dual LNB for 140. It works Great and it offers the ability to run 4 boxes.
