The San Antonio ABC station is on the air now broadcasting 720P. I have a Toshiba TW65x81 and use the Pany DST-50 for recption and recording. When I tune the 720P signal with the mode switch in "all ATSC modes" it creates a blank screen and locks up the DST 50. I have to power it down and up to get controll again. With the mode switch in 1080I or 480P it dosen't lock up and it displays the immage, but it is compressed into the inner 1/3 of the screen. Has anyone seen this or know of a fix?

Thanks in advance

I did see soemthng similar to this on my local CBS OTA signal.

I had a DST-50 feeding a Key digital transcoder to convert the signal to RGB for my Sony computer monitor.

The set up worked fine on ABC OTA. However, CBS broadcasts both an HDTV channel (6-1), and a DTV local weather map(6-2). If ever I selected (6-2), the video would be scrambled on that channel, and on all other channels also until I power cycled.

Gridleak suggested that I switch the DST50 to 1080i ouput. Once I had done that, everything got converted to 1080i, and the scrambling no longer occured.

I did not investigate if the problem was in the DST50, the transcoder or the monitor.
