Yesterday I ordered my second HD DirecTv receiver. I currently have the RCA DTC-100. I ordered the Hughes E86. My TV is the Toshiba CW34X92. It has a great line doubler. Will the 480i from the Hughes after being doubled to 480p by my set be better or worse than the 580p put out by the DTC-100? I assume my Tv was just passing the 580p signal through without doubling. Also, anyone have any comparison with the HD picture quality? Thanks.

The DTC-100 put out 540p or 1080i through the VGA out, and 480i through the S-Video and composite outputs. The Hughes outputs only 1080i through the component outputs and 480i through the others. Your set will only double 480i inputs, so, you'll only get line doubling when viewing the S-Video or composite output.

You may find the Hughes looks dark compared to the DTC-100 and need to adjust your set accordingly.
