I know that the DTS standard for DTS encoded CDs is for the LEF channel to be set at +0db relative to the main speakers. I also know that the DTS standard for DTS movie DVDs is to set the LFE channel at +10db relative the main speakers. The same holds true for the THX standard concerning DTS movies, +10db LFE.
My question is: Where do the concert DVDs recorded in DTS fit in? On my system, it seem that if I go by the DTS cd spec then the LFE is way too low. If I go with the movie DVD spec then the LFE is too high. I don't want to have to reset the sub level manually every time I go from a DTS cd to a DTS movie DVD to a DTS concert DVD. My SS processor will auto switch for the DTS cd and DTS movie DVD but not for the DTS concert DVD. I guess there are no flags on these recordings. Anyone else confused, even I am having trouble following all these DTS specs that I am talking about.
Any help would be great.
