Hi Everyone.


I am aware of 7 DTS ES DVD titles that are or will be DTS ES:


The Haunting

Seven SE

Terminator 2 UE

Gladiator

Chicken Run

Cast Away

Rush Hour 2: coming very soon


Is anyone aware of any other DVD's that will be available in the upcoming future in DTS ES?

Terminator 2 and Cast Away are actually DTS ES-Matrix encoded.


Anchor Bay has been releasing a number of dvds with remastered DTS ES-Discrete tracks. I believe Suspiria is one of them.


The DD track on Unbreakable is EX encoded, so I assume the dts track is ES, but haven't confirmed it. The same goes for The Bone Collector, The Caveman's Valentine, Pitch Black, The Legend of Bagger Vance, and The Mexican. All have DD EX tracks according to THX's site. So, the dts track on the same disc should have ES encoding. But, again, I have yet to confirm this with any of these releases.


The Road to El Dorado has a DTS ES track, but I don't remember if it's discrete or matrix, off hand.

You are right. T2 and Cast Away are Matrix. I have had that Suspiria is a major dissapointment. Unfortunately, all the titles you listed are not recorded in DTS ES. I have checked on this. I am absolutely positive that Unbreakable is not recorded in DTS ES. The website says that the 6 titles I mentioned are the only movies, that are not made by Anchor Bay, that are currently available in DTS ES.


The problem is, all THX Surround EX films are not properly flagged, but DTS ES sound tracks are. So, I guess the best way to check if these titles are encoded in DTS ES is simply pop it in the DVD player and see if it flags DTS ES.


I would appreciate any input from people who own any of the THX Surround EX titles that have DTS tracks to see if it flags DTS ES.
