Im using a X-Meridian straight into my power amp.

DTS playback works completely fine for me. Make sure you go into the Windows properties for your digital output, and select that your card supports DTS.

Actually wait, it just occurred to me that you're probably using analog outputs. Sorry, can't help there.

Yes, analog out straight into my power amp. So I need to do DTS decoding inside my computer. I hope someone can tell me how...
Someone must know how to do this?

You have to change the default VMC audio decoder to one that supports DTS. The utility "VMCD" allows you to change the decoder. I personally use the PowerDVD audio decoder and it works fine on DTS.

Is there a solution on Vista 64?

VMCD works under Vista 32 not 64...

You can manually hack the registry (search the forum to find the key), but I think the problem may run deeper. Here's a reply on the greenbutton forum responding to someone trying to change video decoders in Vista 64 bit:

"Media Center is a 64-bit app, thus you need a native 64-bit decoder. I'm not a fan of 64-bit on the Desktop, so I don't know if any decoders out there are 64-bit. But, you can't use a 32-bit decoder in a native 64-bit app.

I installed Vista 64. Having issues getting digital multichannel sound out of my X-Plosion despite having installed 64bit drivers. It never turns on the proper decoders on my A/V Receiver.

Sound test works fine and turns on basic DTS decoder but only with 5.1 channels. (the seven speaker chime in vista)

Playing out of media player I am only getting digital two channel. I read a lot of similar posts about this issue on Creative cards, but they seem to have resolved that. No one seems to be having this probelm with the 64 bit Auzen X-plosion drivers but me.

Ok...Now Im back on Vista 32. PowerDVD audio decoder cause a freeze in media center when watching TV. Can't get picture without switching back to Microsofts audio decoder.

Any solutions?

Your not alone mate, same here. I use a denon amp and its on "direct" unless i use the test chimes for DD and DTS then it will switch. I dont understand why my apps like powerdvd wont go into dd or dts when needed (im sure they did) i think a codec pack may have killed me. I installed the CCCP pack for video decoding but that puts audio stuff on as well.
