We finally have this new wonderful piece of equipment. Now many of us can do away with the VCR and enter into the modern age of DVR.

Hands on experience is mixed at the moment. Currently the most infuriating issue is that of Rebooting and/or Freezing. Not everyone is experiencing this, but with the multiple post of those working through the issue it is hard to get a grasp of an actual percentage.

Please check the appropriate poll and list some identifying information:

are there any others in the Austin, TX area that are having problems?

I'm beginning to think this is a geographic issue (I.e. how the stations are sending the data)

My has been 100% flawless, but then again, my local CBS station has been sending out the digital TVGOS data for a year now.

Finally? Wonderful? Actually, you could've "modernized" years ago. And those standalone SD and HD DVR's didn't have the bugs like this unit does. They were a lot more consistent and reliable in their QC.

Maybe I should have also said - With no contracts or service fees.

Not everyone has bugs, as I'm sure not everyone was bug free with the reliable ones you mention.

Whatever, this thread is a poll on who is having a certain issue with this product not what product we should have bought years ago

The models of which I'm referring to, of which there were plenty, also had no contracts or service fees. And many had free guides to set recording through, also.

I'm not knocking your enthusiasm for this unit (since you seem to have one that's working OK - sounds like plenty of others don't, though) - just your naivity and lack of knowledge, and the misinformation in your statement about "finally" and there not being a suitable replacement for VCR's in the meantime. Where have you been for the last ten years is all I'm asking?

Well, maybe you should've been paying more attention to things all that time before posting your first couple of sentences in your OP. Don't make a definitive statement about something if you don't know the facts - as if there was no DVR alternative to VHS for the past 10 years.

Besides, don't we now have two posts here with basically the same poll? I see yours was started 6 minutes after the other one. Looks like another DTVPal CECB fiasco starting, with all the redundant polls. You should check these things before starting a new one.
