In my new dedicated HT under construction, it is 12'w x 16'l x 10'h , which is about 2,000 cu ft. I like action 5.1-7.1 movies. Ignoring the cost factor, what benefit is there in dual Velodyne DD-12's vs one DD-15?

They go down to about the same low frequency, but I guess the dual DD-12's can move more air. So what does that mean? Other factors?

Are these subs too much, whatever that means, for my smallish room? Maybe I should be considering dual DD-10 vs one DD-12?

What about one DD-18?

The benefit of dual DD-12's is extra SPL that you likely will not need in a room of that size, if it is a fully enclosed 2000 cu ft. The DD-15 would give you all you need, with the added bonus of the additional extension. The DD-18 would probably sound a little bloated in comparison in that room.

Note: The above is theoretical, as I have not actually heard the DD subs, but that's how I'd break it down if I was considering these subs.
