Okay my title doesn't make sense unless you read my post, but I could not describe my thoughts in such few words.

I would like to build a dual opposed hybrid HT/Pro sub, with 2 dual opposed high excursion HT drivers on bottom, and 2 dual opposed quick response Pro drivers on top. It might be best to make this a stacking 2-part modular design instead of all-in-one.

This would have 2 parts, similar in design to Seaton Submersive HP, stacked on top of each other, but the top one is using 18" Pro drivers to better handle upper bass frequencies, and they are crossed-over at about 40 Hz.

I would feed a split LFE signal to each, with high-pass filter in the top, low-pass filter in the bottom. I think the filter should be fixed to suit the drivers, and defeatable to optionally use as standalone subs.

In my mind this is the ultimate subwoofer. Anyone with experience in DIY subs please chime in. How would you design this type of system?

You would probably get alot more feedback if you posted in the DIY section.
