Tbh for sealed HT I would look no further and go no lower than dual SB-3000’s
Can I ask you what size your living room is? I currently have a single pb1000 & looking to upgrade to a single sb1000. How is the sb1000 for movies? I am worried I may lose something in the movie performance going away from ported. I am about 50/50 music to movies. So both are important to me.I am in the other camp.
I got an SB-3000 to serve as the ".1" in a 5.1 setup with Elac Debut v2s (though a Sony STR-DN1080) in a living room setup (open design floor plan with room open into dining room to the right and kitchen behind), and have found it to go almost perfectly with them. I haven't had any point yet where I really thought I needed more, and have it dialed back for music a bit because it was overpowering the other speakers.
I have a Rythmik G25 it sounds amazing. Not sure what your budget is, but I went from a PB4000 and like this sound much more. Its dual opposed 15 inch drivers, so not a super small footprint. I will eventually add a second, as I have two buddies that have duals...and they said they've never heard better.Due to size constraints, looking for a set of dual sealed subs for ny home theater setup. I know for HT vented might be a bit better but need something more compact. HT room is 12x24, 8' ceilings. 100% HT use. Was looking at the SVS SB3000 but what else should I be considering in that size, price range in a sealed sub? I don't have to have every last bit of bass, just great sounding subs for movies.
There's an AVS member selling a pair of Chane SBE-118s (18" passive, sealed subs) w/ the Chane 3600 amp for $550 (plus shipping). Definitely worth a look if budget is tight.flyinrazrback said:Due to size constraints, looking for a set of dual sealed subs for ny home theater setup.
