This is a post designed to find out who may be interested in purchasing the new 8750 DLP from Dukane. We can organize a powerbuy for this item if we have enough people interested. Keep in mind also that Dukane has a 5 year warranty on their products. Please post here if you are interested. The price is going to depend on the number of people we get committed.

Thanks!

Hey all!

The 8750 is essentially an LP350 clone. It is a great projector for those who don't have an unlimited budget. Dukane is releasing it this month on the 15th. There is a 5 year warranty on it, which is a benefit over the Infocus. We are trying to see if people would be interested in prebuying it.

Thanks!

I might be interested depending on the price. If this is essentially an unmodified LP350 with a longer warranty, the price would need to be at least as good as current LP350 pricing (about $4100).

I'm interested but concerned about the price. More would probably be interested if you could give a price range depeding on the number of persons.

number of persons possible price

10 $4500

20 4000

30 3500

50 3000

I'm not really supposed to quote prices due to lowest advertised price. However, I can say that with 10 people, the price would be around the low $4000's. More than 10 people might cause the price to drop, but I'd have to get a feeling for the total number and then discuss it with Dukane.

I don't understand this; it is the same unit as a LP350? Does that mean it has exactly the same hardware (scaler) in it? Then why is the MSRP $800 higher then a LP350? Is that the extra 4 year worth of insurance you pay for? Who would buy a projector that hasn't been reviewed while for less $ you can buy the LP350 who everyone already knows what it does? And why not powerbuy the LP350 and get a price much lower then $4000 Can someone explain?

It would be nice if Alan were to do a review of this projector, it was nice to see the renewed interest in the Sony 10ht after his review. It may also help on the powerbuy. BTW $4000 for a 5 year warranty sounds like a great deal to me! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Maybe if we added ... (Infocus LP350 clone) ... to the subject there would be more people interested.

Just a suggestion ...
