Yes. That is the easier direction, as no HDCP is involved.

You have answered my question related to the DV-I to HDMI, I'm glad
.

Hope you can answer this as well. If I want the sound from my computer through The LCD TV what can be done or what cables would I need for that.

You'll need a 3.5mm Stereo Male to RCA to carry the sound from the headset/speaker port on your laptop to your TV/amp, unless your TV has dedicated PC HDMI input on it in which case it probably has a 3.5mm stereo jack associated with that input. But for most cases, you need something like this: 3.5mm Stereo Male to RCA


Also, check this as a good inexpensive HDMI to DVI cable
