I've been using DVArchive for awhile. Recently I switched to v3.0. The problem I have occurs about 75% of the time. At some point during downloads (closer to the end of the first movie download) DVArchive stops running correctly. If I maximize the DVArchive window I just get the gray screen with DVArchive bar at top. None of the program information shows in the window. Closing DVArchive at this point will not work. I won't shut down and I'm forced to reboot. Like I said the problem does not happen all the time. Sometimes I can download 3 movies with no problems and DVArchive still responds. Other times, even with one movie DVArchive stops responding but continues to download the movie. After reboot and starting DVArchive again I get some error about a semaphore. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You have run into the infamous GSOD (Grey Screen of Death). Do a search on "GSOD". Here's one such match:
