I searched around the net for a way of recording my movies (DVD or DivX) to JVC DV Camera using FireWire but didn't find the exact tool. I read about DVTool (DVSPoof) but this is not the tool I need. I want to be able to play the movies on the DV Camera but not to have to create a large file in DV format on my HDD. I think that there should be a way of doing this on the fly even with GraphEdit using the .... DivX Decoder -> DVEncoder -> DV Muxer -> IEEE1394 Card (instead of the FileWriter or s.th. like this) because DV is a very raw format which doesn't require big processing.

Or if suppose this is not possible is there a way to convert a DivX avi to a DV?

You could just use premiere, but it would require making a large file on your hard drive. Also, the quality would be rather low, as you have the mpeg method of creating images that is different than DV. If you're curious on the differences, study up on B frames, and the like
