The DAC is bypassed if you are using the digital outputs for DD and DTS. So no worries there.

Does it matter if how good the DVD Audio Dac is (i.e. 12 bit) if you are only using the Dolby/DTS Digitial out on the dvd player and having the
receiver work the decoding?
