I know the Panasonic is not out yet but I was wondering if there is any sound difference from one dvd audio player to the next? Speaking for dvd audio only since they all have the same 192 dacs and use the analog outputs for 5.1 it looks like one could not tell a sound difference in these two units or other dvd audio players? I looked at the specs of both and it seems they are very close except Denon is double the price. Why?

Anyone have any experiances with dvd audio sound quality diffeences in machines?

I'm thinking of waiting for the Panny rp82 and save some bucks over the Denon.

Thanks

The Denon has analog bass management. See the recent Secrets review. At its price, I doubt the Pan will have any bass management. The Denon also uses Burr-Brown DACs, which the Pan does not. Of course you can add an Outlaw ICBM at $150 to the RP82, and get more extensive bass management than the Denon, for less money than the Denon.
