DVD audio problems through HDMI with LG

I need a little bit of help with my dvd audio over HDMI. I have a 3806 with LG LDX-514 DVD player and Vizio Plasma. The TV works through HDMI out from the 3806. I connected the DVD to the receiver via HDMI cable and the picture is fine but I get no sound. The Tuner and TV generate sound through the speakers (2 speakers) without a problem. I connected the DVD to the TV directly via HDMI cable and sound and picture work fine so the player is generating sound and picture through the HDMI interface. However it will not switch sound through the receiver. I have told the 3806 that DVD input was through HDMI1 and have played with most other setting but I cannot figure this one out. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome. Thanks, Marlon
