Hi Guys

I recently moved to a dedicated file server for storing my music and my DVD's (very noisy, lotso fans, super cool and hidden in the basement ;)). My main machine is SUPER quiet So, instead of ripping directly to my main computer, I've been ripping in my main computer across the network to my file server downstairs where I cant hear it.

According the the DVD spec, you shouldn't need more than a 9 mbit connection. In the real world this means that 802.11b won't work (5mbit is average sustained), phoneline / homeplug is iffy. Good old fashion ethernet 100bt is the most reliable.

I found 10MBit not enough you need 100 or actually the mximum rate seems to top out at 12-15Mbit bandwidth
