Ok I just hooked up my dvd-hd841 through composite and everything worked fine. Now I just got it so that the picture comes through fine through a dvi cord but i cannot get any audio under my digital output! The audio worked fine through composite. Is there anything I am doing wrong!?! Thanks in advance.

You may have to select 'Bitstream' in the digital output section of the setup menu. Also if you are outputing DTS to your receiver to process and it's not DTS capable, you will not hear any sound. If this is the case, just turn DTS off in the setup menu.

Yeah ive tried bitstream on and off and that did nothing. I also turned the dts on and off and that did nothing. I finally tried A mode and B mode and both of those did nothing! I have no idea. Is there something else on top of a dvi cord i need to output audio? Or is there something else I might have done wrong?

Do you have a separate coax or optical digital audio connection to your receiver? Or, if you don't have a receiver, did you connect analog audio to your TV's audio input that is used by DVI? DVI itself doesn't carry digital sound at all.

It works!! It finally works! Something as common sense as Foxbat put is what it took, thank you so much!! I appreciate all the help from everyone on this board!

But i have one final question...

My DVDs presented in the 2.35.1 aspect ratio still have black bars at the top and bottom? Is there anyway to make them disappear because i thought that was the whole advantage to having a widescreen tv, so that there were no black bars. Any MORE help would be appreciated.
