I am having a weird situation when playing a DVD from my Sony juke box (DVD Disc Explorer 300 +1) to my Pioneer plasma (Elite pro-1150 HD). About 45 minutes into a movie the screen pixelates then goes black while the audio continues. The plasma TV is hung over my gas fireplace with the component cables being run though the hollow space to the DVD player in the shelves next to the fireplace. My friend, who has some audio background, suggested that it may be because the heat from the fireplace is causing the problem. I tested this theory tonight with the fireplace off and sure enough, no screen blackout. While one test doesn't prove anything, it does seem possible. If true, then my component cables are being baked, which means I'll have to remove the set from the wall and somehow re-install the cables in some other way that is not affected by the heat.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and can comment.
