Hello,

From what I can see, PowerDVD always puts up a 16:9 image no matter what the display format is set to. I'm running a Radeon 8500 based HTPC at 1280x720 (16:9) to drive a NEC 6PG CRT projector. When playing an anamorphic 2.35:1 movie, PowerDVD puts up 1280x545 alright, but there are 175 or so blanked lines that are wasting valuable bandwidth in the projector.

So if I managed to set the HTPC desktop to 1280x545, is there any way to get PowerDVD (or any other software DVD player) to display at that resolution?

Thanks.

If you unlock the AR in the player it will then play the DVD scaled to the resolution...

Of course by doing this you will then have the black bars still in the image and it will be over compressed... You will need to then use YxY to set up a window size greater than your desktop to make the image correct...

Hey thanks PP, I'll give that a try. I didn't know about that YxY, it looks pretty useful.

Cheers,
