Hello all,

I have a Pioneer DVR-7000 recorder, a Sony DVP-S7700 and a Panasonic LV70 portable. When I record Video Mode DVD-R's on my Pioneer, I am getting mixed results. So far, the Sony has been able to play everything I produce, regardless of length, media brand, etc. The Panasonic, however, is hit or miss. Many times it is fine, often it will fail to load the disc when inserted. "Better" media - i.e. TDK, Pioneer brand, etc., seems to do better than bulk no-name media.

1. Does anyone else have the Pioneer and Panasonic, and what has your experience been?

2. Is there a huge difference between media? Will the $5 name-brand stuff always be more compatible than the $2 generic stuff?

3. Is anyone aware of any firmware upgrades for the Panasonic that makes it better able to read DVD-R's?

Thanks!

Craig
