I'm too lazy to double check, but don't DVD-RAM discs come in catridge form rather than bare discs like regular DVD-ROM and CDs do? If so, I think that means almost no regular DVD-ROM will read them because they won't even fit in the slot.

I know that the DVD-reader in my laptop reads DVD-RAM, but other than that I don't know about compatibility. I was quite amazed when I found out it could read DVD-RAM as I thought it was very propritary.

In terms of reading AND writing DVD-RAM:

I use the Panasonic "rambo" LFD-311 DVD-RAM drive to read the DVD-RAM disc my camcorder makes, as well as standard

DVD's. The LFD-311 also writes DVD-RAM and DVD-R.

In terms of just reading DVD-RAM:

I bought a Hitachi DVD drive- the GD-7500 (12X) that could read DVD and DVD-RAM on my PC. The Hitachi GD-8000 (16X) is another option.
