My old 4x Toshiba drive recently died and i was wondering if you all had one to reccomend...

Most of the good ones i know of (Sony, Toshiba, Pioneer, etc) can be had for $40 or less at newegg.com so price isnt too much of an issue...

Any reasons to choose one over another?

Make sure there's an RPC1 bios available for the drive you want to purchase. Region free is always better than region locked.

I know this doesn't matter much for Americans, but here in Belgium it's a must. I buy mostly R1 dvd's from Canada, but there are exceptions. Try finding "Bowling for Columbine" on DVD in America or Canada. You won't find it. Strange, isn't it. Probably because America needs to have its population think violent thoughts or something. There is, however, a Region 2 release of this movie.

Interesting on the BFC movie, I was waiting for it and you reminded me that it should have come out by now. I am curious now why Amazon and a whole bunch of other sites say it will show up Jan1, 2010. Obviously they have no clue but considering it was supposed to be out April 22nd or so, it's a little disconcerting. I am wondering if they are going to do a theatrical re-release first or something, not sure...
