Geez, I poke my head in here and find I'm more ignorant then I thought.
I'm putting together my HT. Getting an Infocus X-1, Yamaha HTR5760, Athena Micras, and then there's the player.
Of course, there's more details floating around in here, then I guess I care about at this time, but I don't want to screw up either. I was looking to pick up a basic progressive scan/VCR at BB or something. What details should I be looking for here? I figure dvd output is dvd output, and most have both svideo and component.
Looking at something like:

I'd like it to be able to read DVD+r as that's what my laptop outputs.
Clue me in here! Or should I get separates?
