How do I hook up my DVD and VCR so that I can record & playback with either one on the same TV? Instructions state the picture quality on the TV would be poor if I hooked them up in sequence. Would a splitter do the trick?

I assume you mean DVD recorder right?

A splitter would probably work, but make sure you get a good quality one so you don't experience much signal loss... What source are you trying to record? Just cable TV? Give us a little more detail...

Yes, DVD recorder. I want to record TV programs from cable but oftentimes the time length of the programs exceed the recording disk capacity even in SLP, so I would like to also record to the VCR.

I would also like to hook up the DVD and VCR together so that I can transfer home movies from the VCR to DVD.

Thanks

Don
