I want to replace an older DVD player and VCR with a DVD/VHS Combination Unit.

Prior to purchasing a Sony SLV-D300P, I wanted to confirm that I could record on the VCR (or play a VCR Tape) and play a DVD at the same time.

The Audio/Video experts at the local Circuit City didn't have a clue, and the product page doesn't specifically say.

Are there any users of DVD/VHS Combination Units, that can answer that question.

Thanks for you help

I have a Samsung V2500, according to the manual it can be programed to record while the DVD player is being used. I have not used this feature (I don't tape anything - that is what video capture cards and hard drives are for).

I have been very happy with my Samsung. Nice progressive DVD out. Average (i.e. bad) VCR section.
