I have ordered a DVDO HD+ with SDI to go with my Benq 8700+ DLP projector. I am using a Momitsu DVD player with DVI output and will be adding cable HD. Currently the Momitsu is connected to the projector with a DVI-I cable. What is the best way to hook up the DVD player and the cable box to the DVDO? Both have DVI outputs but DVDO only has one DVI input. Will it make the most sense to run the cable HD through the SDI input and DVD through the DVI? Thanks
You want to connect the cable box (HD) through DVI as SDI in this incarnation is SD-only. You should replace the Momitsu with an SDI capable DVD player and run this into the iScan through SDI.
How exactly will you be outputing the cable HD through SDI, do you have a cable STB that has SDTV SDI output? I doubt it.
The momitsu is a bad product to use with the iScan because it already deinterlaces (badly) before it ever gets to the unit. Consider switching to an SDI player instead.
The other alternative is to use a DVI switcher (Geffen?).
