Hello all Im a new member, Ive just ordered the X1 from Dell does anyone know if a Toshiba SD-9200 dvd player has a good progressive scan de-interlacer? Should I hook it to the vga input or s video and use the X1s de-interlacer? Im trying to decide which component cable adapter to order. Thanks in advance. ED.

remember all the color adjustments on the x1 dont work with the compnent to vga adapter so it might be better to use the component to S video adapter if your dvd player cant adjust color internally

But also remember that the S-Video component adapter uses a special 7-pin s-video jack, so if you connect that to the X1 then you can't use the S-video port for anything else without physically removing the component adapter. A standard S-video cable or switch won't work with the component adapter.

So if you have any other uses for the S-video port, be prepared to do some cable swapping. Personally, I'd either use the VGA adapter or just connect the DVD player by standard S-video, and skip the S-Video to Component adapter.
