DVDR/Tivo audio question

Hi Everyone,

This my first post and I have an audio question.

We recently got a Memorex MVDR2102 DVDR and everytime we try to record from Tivo there is some kind of audio interference. Its an intermittent buzzing/crackling which seems to affect all the cable channels at some level. We have the signal from the CATV box going into the DVDR using an RF cable. The outgoing signal from the DVDR to the TV is sent using S Video and Audio cables. This problem doesn't happen when we watch regular store bought DVD's, it also doesn't happen when we record the same program onto VHS, just when we record something from the TiVo onto the DVDR.

Can anyone help us figure out what the problem is please??

It's the RF cable from the STB to the DVDR. Make sure it's of high quality, and wrench tight on both ends. Not those push-on types of cables. If it's not the cable then either the STB is sending it out bad or the DVDR is receiving it bad. To eliminate the latter, try running the cable straight from the wall to the DVDR. If the problem persists then either the incoming cable signal has the problem (call the cable company) or the DVDR is receiving it bad. Eliminate the incoming cable problem by running the cable straight from the wall to the TV, if the problem persists the incoming cable signal is bad.
Try running a/v(red/white/yellow)cables from cable box to dvdr and see if that helps.
