I created a 1776x1000i resolution in powerstrip for output over ati dongle component to my 4:3 samsung 27" hdtv


i also burned a few movies to the hard drive using dvd decrypter and play them back in windvd...they look fine...


but if i change resolution to 1776x1000i, they are stretched up to 4:3 mode, not the 16:9 that they should be....this is on my monitor or tv, so isn't the dongle settings...


why would it stretch the movie when in 1776x1000i, but not in normal resolutions?

nobody has had this problem? where it would 4:3 all movies when in powerstrip resolution 1776x1000i? any clues what could be causing this

Ummmm A: I realize this is an old post but B: just because you have a 4X3 display does not mean you define 16X9 resolutions to display 16X9 material... define a 4X3 res that will work with your display and the DVD will be letter boxed in the 4X3 display.

it did it on the computer monitor as well

and it also fixed itself the next day...not sure what ps setting caused it


this is a 4:3 res that works with my display and it does letterbox the 16:9 material...it just wasn't for some reason at first
