I'm looking for a list of DVD's that have the THX Optimizer. How will I know by looking at outside of box? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the Pixar films all have it.


The THX optimizer is a good start but you should really be looking at something like AVIA or Video Essentials.


I think you can get them from NetFlix now. Not sure.

Finding Nemo has an optimizer (pretty sure it is THX). I keep it handy...

Although I went with Digital Video Essentials.


If your going to spend hundreds or even thousands on audio/video equiptment, whats another $15 for a dvd that will help you setup your system properly and educate you in the process.

I could be wrong, but I was thinking that every movie that is THX certified includes the optimizer. So you could just look for the THX marking on the cover.

I think many of the older titles don't have thx optimizer. Many new ones (all?) do though. I do recommend a proper test disc such as Avia/DVE, as the THX discs may or may not be exactly correct, partly inherent to the design of the THX system here that was never fully implemented.
