I have the digital video essentials on hd dvd and found it to be useless on plasmas and lcd's. my plasma doesn't really have may options to config. preset colors warn,cool,and neutral. brightness and contrast do it's gear towards people who has projection tv's

Well that's a fault of your TV, not the disc.

Yeah its more "my TV with no options is useless". Dont blame the disc that your TV wont let you tweak it. Ive got a plasma that the disc is very usefull for, thank you very much.

I have 3 plasmas and two LCDs in the home and the DVE HD is just fine with all of them.


IT allows me to adjust contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness, (Overscan on a few of the sets that allow for it).


IT even has grayscale patterns if I choose to work on grayscale for these TVs.


I guess aside from all these items that help to calibrate the image, the disc is useless.

I used the disc on my Sammy LCD and am pleased with the results. I actually liked how it thought you about TV calibrations and such as opposed to just telling you what to do.
