DVI cables - is there a standard?

240 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  rr330i
I was just talking to an electronics warehouse.

I was told that if the PIN-OUT on the DVI cable is not correct,

then not every pin will have a signal to the TV. Therefore, you

will not get a digital signal. You would only get an analog signal.

Is this correct? Was there no standard set for DVI-D cables, and

the manufacturers are doing all different pin-outs?

UGH, I'm so confused.

thanks, but link didn't work.
I've read that before...

but pin-out is not mentioned.

Supposedly, different TV manufacturers are using different pin-outs on their dvi-d.
