I've been playing with my new Sony HS20 and Bravo D1 for the last week and noticed a difference between the DVI and HDMI inputs. The picture looks great on DVI, but when the Bravo is directed to HDMI over a Gefen DVI-HDMI cable, the black level goes up quite noticeably with a consequent loss of contrast ratio. All the settings are the same on both. (I'm using Video GBR on DVI and have read that this is automatic on HDMI.) I'm not able to improve the PQ on HDMI by lowering the brightness.

Has anyone else done this experiment or have ideas on what's going on? If I've got a bad unit, I'm still within the return period and will exchange it. If this is normal operation, then it's time to start looking for a DVI splitter. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!
