I have a Sammy hlp6163w. It has a DVI & a HDMI input. I use the HDMI for connecting to my HD-STB (TS-360) via a monster cable DVI to HDMI cable. I plan to connect a new DVD player (Denon 2910) via DVI to DVI. Are there any advantage to HDMI over DVI? Should I be connecting these devices differently?

As far as I know, the only difference is that DVI is digital video only(you would need to connect RCA red&white plugs for the stereo sound, or optical out to either the tv, if possible, or a receiver for DD sound) while the HDMI input sends both Video/Audio digitally to the TV through one connection. Even though HDMI sends the sound as well, it is not DD/or DTS for 5.1 or better sound though. Just stereo.
