You need a DVI-D cable. Your graphics card will accept either a DVI-I or DVD-D. Your LCD will accept DVI-D only.

Explanations here:

To explain, there are three type

DVI-D (digital only)

DVI-A(Analog only) This is VGA, only with a different style plug. This makes DVI backward compatable

DVI-I(both, I is for intergrated)

With an adapter, DVI-A can be plugged into a VGA port.

righteo got my pc hooked up to my lcd looks awesome lol well impressed but now i need a cable from the computer to the back off lcd to get sound.what cable do i need to do this?
don't waste your time. Most LCD speaker are ridiculously bad. Buy a decent set somewhere.

newegg.com is always good.
o rite well i was thinking of getting a surround sound system after xmas but shall i plug it into tv or pc if plug it in just to pc then i will only get good sounds from my pc and not from normal tv if you understand so i would still need to connecter from tv to pc to get sound surround sound on pc and normal tv?
It depends how fancy your reciever is. Hopefully it will have multiple inputs, lets just call it Video1, Video2, CD, Tuner, etc...

Plug your tv into Video1, Computer into video 2, and you can just switch from one sound source to another with a press of a button.
well i have my pc hooked up by a dvi cable then next to where you plug the dvi cable in the is another hole where you can plug in the wire from pc to tv to get sound but i dont no what cable to use?

You can use either. Dual link is needed only for the 2560x1600 30 inch monitors.

place to buy?

bettercables seems to be charging as much as monster
go to www.monoprice.com

don't get fooled by high priced cables.

do make sure you get a shielded cable with ferrites on both ends though.
ferrites being the round box thing at each end right before the connector?
also while looking at the dv-d single link cable on monoprice

i read this review

A friendly warning, i've read that a a single-link cable is more reliable than a dual-link cable with most configurations. The dual-link cables are built for a different configuration and can cause a bad picture if used with single-link devices. Translation: A dual-link cable is not 100% backwards compatible with single-link devices and theres a "better" chance your picture quality will suffer. Only use dual-link cable if its explicitly called for in your configuration.

true?

i was going to go with a dual link..for future expansion..but now im leaning towards single link...any truth to the above statement?

also will my signal degrade on a 15 foot cable?

I wouldn't bother listening to that review. The dual-link wires are not active. The main difference you'll see is the overall cable is thicker to account for the extra lines.
