DVI input on HDTV

1140 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  bomrat
I own a Toshiba 51HX93 HDTV. The TV has a DVI input on the back. I know certain components use this plug, however, the manual says that you cannot plug a computer in to this plug.

My question is why not, and will it damage the TV if I try? I have laptops and desktops that have a DVI connection on them, and I would like to be able to connect them to the TV if possible.

Can anyone provide some further insight regarding this?

Thanks.

they are probably saying that due to the dvi input limitations...

its probably only 480i 480p 1080i only...

if you put powerstrip on your pc and set the output to 1080i it should be fine.
