Any rumors (or factual information) about plans for DVI equipped megachangers?

Thanks.

I was wondering the same. I would be tempted to add Escient's new DVDM-100 DVD management system (already have the Tunebase....upgrading to Fireball) but I would only probably do it if I can find a high quality DVD changer with DVI. I saw the new Sony ES series DVD changer at CEDIA. It did not have DVI.

Just a thought.

Get yourself an HTPC and a media server.

1. Rip all your DVDs to the server.

2. Combine multi-disk movies into a single file.

3. Store all your DVDs in the closet.

4. Use DVDLobby and your remote control to organize, browse and launch movies.

All the advantages of an HTPC, all the advantages of a megachanger, plus some.

What would such a setup cost with enough capacity to store 400 DVD's?

My guess is a lot more than a DVI equipped 400 disk megachanger would cost, assuming someone eventually makes one.

Off the top of my head I would say $5-7m assuming everything has to be bought. The key to understanding its value is to consider the options carefully. Besides, nobody came up with a DVI/megachanger option, so this is probably the cheapest one.
