DVI to Panny Component Input ??

182 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  mnilan
Hoping I can get some technical info/answers here... I am curious if the Sam-931 DVI output DVD player can be used sucessfully with my Panny Plasma, 42pwd5. Can I use some form of adaptor cable to convert the DVI output info from the DVD to a Component input on my Panny, or even adapt the DVI signal to the unused d-sub 15 pin connection on the Panny.?? I am searching for a new DVD player, the upcoversion which the Samsung offers sounds interesting, but I need to know if I can convert the DVI to to either the Component input or the 15 pin pc connection on the Plasma... THANKS ! KMG

kmgregory:

If your Panasonic plasma doesn't have a DVI input, then you would be better off leaving the DVI output players alone. You would most likely get a better image letting the TV do the scaling from a good progressive player.
