Hello,

I am an owner of a SANYO PLV-60 projector which has no dvi input. I am thinking of buying a Denon 2910 dvd player. If I use DVI to VGA adapter to connect to my projector will it work?

No.

Denon 2910 outputs DVI-D. DVI->VGA adapters only work for DVI analog. You would need a very expensive box to convert from DVI-D to VGA. Plus I wanna bet you it's not going to be HDCP compiant, so it will not work with Denon at all.

What can I use to get 1080i or 720p picture to my projector? Should I buy a scaler? What do you think of Zinwell 2000? My projector supports these formats and has Y,Pb,Pr and VGA inputs. Is there any dvd player bewteen $500 and $1000 to achieve 720p via component or vga?

One player is the Momitsu. It has the ability to scale to 790 or 1080 and the DVI outputs BOTH analog and digital signals.....this is where you would use a DVI to VGA adapter.

There is the Zenith 318 which the older models send out a upcoverted signal via component. You would need a component to VGA transcoder.

I had the Sanyo projector. Whichever way you go let me know? I have a DVI to VGA adapter and the component to VGA transcoder. I would either one for cheap.

Also, Movi M2000 and HTPC outputs a scaled image via RGBHV using a RGBHV to VGA breakout cable. Projection Systems also has a plug and play HTPC. You can search the internet for either product. Let me know if I can help out
