From what I've read and understand so far, DVI takes a analog signal and converts it to digital, whereas VGA passes just an analog signal. If my assumptions are right then I can't see the advantage of the ATI dongle if you are going component in on a set. Wouldn't the dongle change the signal back to analog so to be accepted by the component cable?
If this is the case, then it would seem a straight VGA-Component connection would have a more stable signal. Does this make sense??
I'm trying to understand what would give me the best picture DVD-wise as this and great sound are my only goals. Thanks for any input from anyone.
