i believe VGA is considered analog, like on your videocard for your computer

there is VGA and DVI, and on LCD monitors, there is analog versions that use the VGA cable and more expensive dvi versions that can use both

VGA is analog RGB, DVI is digital RGB. (Trivia: DVI-I supports VGA as long as transmitter and receiver are capable).
