Hi , I have had Dwin Transcanner with Dwin HD700 crt projector for about 4 years. With the emerging new technologies and upgrade to Lexicon MC12 preamp processor with component swithching. I am confused abt my setup.

Dwin has a rgb pass through for HDTV, and processes all other video signals. I have a DVD player Pioneer DV09 , a HDTV cable tuner and in process of buying progressive scan DVD/SACD/DVDA universal player. At present pioneer inputs into transcanner component in and component outs of HDTV is scaled to rgb input for hdtv passthrough. with the addition of universal player and MC12, i want to use MC12 component swithching but then how will transcanner handle it???

do i need a new processor ( variable line multiplier) or are there any alternatives,

please suggest.

thanks

Manny

MY Dwin TS2 (and HD-700 CRT) has three component inputs and two RGB-15 inputs. The RGB-15 inputs are pass through only. The component inputs auto sense either 480i, and then scale it to the scaler line # setting, or the component inputs sense and pass through any 480p/720p/1080i signal without scaling.

Does that help you?

WOOPS!!! I have the TS2. You have the TS1. Your TS1 only has one RGB-15 HD bypass, its component inputs only take in 480i and then scales it.

Due to all my HD stuff, that's why I sold my TS1 and got the TS2 several years ago. You might be able to find a good buy on a TS2 used.

Please advise

Manny, my TS2 works great in my setup. However, as new scalers have come out, I really haven't kept current. I can only say the TS2 would work for you - and you need to look at other possible solutions and see what you think re price vs performance. Good luck!!!!
