I was this close to buying a Marantz VP12S1, but in light of the recent events I am going to wait a bit until there is more info./fix for the issues at hand.


UNTIL then, I am curious about the new Dwin unit (Transvision 2) I know virtually nothing about this unit, nor have I had success finding anything solid on it (sorry my search feat. does not seem to work, GRRRRRR) I know there is a fair amout of anticipation for this unit, but I have yet to see a sustained discussion about this. So, I thought this could be a place for pple to post their knowledge, thoughts, feelings, links, where to see the unit demo'd, etc., etc.

Dealers are supposed to get their demos by May 18th, with presold deliveries about the same date. Dealers have assigned territories with internet sales prohibited. Your local dealer, if it has ordered a demo, should have it up and running early the following week. The DWIN folks are talking like this schedule will be met.

I'm hearing that due to delays and the list of pre-orders, dealer demos will probably not occur prior to the filling of orders that already exist (one of them is mine).


The latest I heard from my authorized Dwin dealer as of yesterday is that Dwin is expecting to begin shipment around May 20 and available to dealers with pre-orders by end of May.


I'm quite hopeful as I've had a finished theater project since mid-March.
