Has anyone tried dying fabric couches? I have comfortable, but extremely ugly fabric couches for the theater. I do not like the look of slip covers, so I was pondering dying the couches. Anyone done this before? If so, please provide some details and good or bad results.

Thanks

Ever watch Trading Spaces?

Hilde PAINTS couches.

Why not the slip covers? At least you could dye them.

Btw, is the fabric a flower print?

Hey I was thinking the same thing!

Question is What kind of paint did she use and what were the long term effects? Did it flake, wear off? Who knows...

There MIGHT be special fabric die/paint, and there might even be professionals that can do it.

However slip covers can be changed/dyed like mentioned above :)

The couches are old. The previous owners of the house left them behind. They are a solid olive green, think 60's 70's olive green. I thought about slipcovers, but I really don't like the look and they are not exactly cheap. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
